Dr. Katherine Schweitzer
Clinical Psychologist
Licensed in California (PSY35805)
Dr. Katherine Schweitzer provides individual psychotherapy to adults and specializes in treating anxiety, stress, mood disorders, relationship challenges and codependency, grief and loss, addiction, and women’s issues. Dr. Schweitzer utilizes an integrative approach pulling from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), in addition to relational therapy, tailoring treatment to support each client’s unique and evolving needs.
Central to Dr. Schweitzer’s approach is creating a safe and trusting therapeutic space, built through empathic listening, validation, and humor. She views therapy as a collaborative process and helps clients to cultivate self-compassion and increase self-awareness as pathways to meaningful and lasting change. She supports clients in connecting with their personal values and building healthier, more authentic relationships – with themselves and with others.
Originally from North Carolina, Dr. Schweitzer has called the Bay Area home since 2017, aside from a year in New York City for her doctoral internship. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, traveling (preferably to a body of water), and finding happy hour deals for oysters on the half shell.
